Give us today our daily bread 31 October 2007
‘Give us today our daily bread.’
The Lord created us, made us all that we are, and provides all that we have; food, drink, shelter, clothes, possessions, work, family, friends, life itself. If you are like me you take so much of it for granted and are not nearly thankful enough.
Take time now to reflect on how much you have been blessed through the Lord’s provision and then offer up a prayer of thanks.
The Lord will continue to provide; the more that we turn to him for our needs then the more that we will see his provision.
“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.” Psalm 55:22
Of course Jesus provides much more.
“Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.”” John 6:35
Jesus, through his victory on the cross, has given us freedom. Through him we are saved and through him we have the certainty of eternal life.
Thank you Lord Jesus, our Redeemer, our Saviour, our King; for everything.
Amen |
