Fri 28 Sept 07 - Build Our Faith - Promises: What God will Do
Yesterday we looked at God's prophetic word as a means of building our faith in what God will do, today we will look at the Bible - particularly at God's promises that can encourage us...
Of course as good as some of the promises of the Bible can sound they only have power and authority because of the one who spoke them. Promises that are secure in Almighty God who is faithful, glorious beyond measure, full of compassion and mighty in power. If our Father holds the universe in his hand, how much more then does he hold New Bilton?
Allow the following promises to encourage you, as you remember the one who spoke them:
"Go and make disciples...and surely I am with you all the days until the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20
Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for in the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
"The Harvest is plentiful..." Luke 10:2
He also said, "This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come." Mark 4:26-29
So let us go into this time of mission not confident in our efforts or our business, but relying on him whose promises are sure.
And the story for today...let's write that one together tomorrow shall we?
See you then, God Bless!
