Wed 26 Sept 07 - Build Our Faith

And the Spirit said to Philip, "Go over and join this chariot."  So Philip ran to him... Acts 8:29-30

Today I want to continue our celebration of what God is doing by telling another story of the build up to Revive, it's one that we may all be able to learn something from. 

With me being a bit pushed with one thing and another, Rosie kindly offered to take some photos for me which I was going to use in the prayers during Sunday morning's service.  (Why not download the powerpoint by clicking here and use it as a guide to pray for Revive for a couple of minutes)

So Rosie went out and got to a point where she could cut a corner and get home quickly, but as she thought about doing that she had a strong inner conviction that she should go to the end of the street.  There she ran into a couple who - realising she was part of the church (which let me encourage you brought a very positive reaction) - and after a short conversation, they asked if we could help them clear out their garden.

I'd been praying that more projects would come in, I know that many of you have been praying that we'd have the right balance with workers / jobs to do...  God had it all worked out, right people in the right places at the right time...

Now I'm not exactly sure how it was the Spirit "spoke" to Philip, perhaps it was similar to the gut-feeling that Rosie had, but the lesson is that he responded obediently - and through that God was able to come into someone elses life...

This week especially keep your Spiritual eyes and ears open to what God is saying, he may just be opening a door of opportunity for you.

Why not now pray for him to open up opportunities for you...
