Are we there yet…? Thursday 19th July.
As you read this, I shall be in Paris on the first day of my holiday. All the planning has finally paid off, the car is straining under the weight of all my baggage, and the kids are bored with being in the car already. Thank goodness for the excitement of a day up the Eiffel Tower to break the journey!
We still have a long way to go before we reach our final destination on Saturday, but we’ve chosen to take it one step at a time, focus on each day as a new adventure, and look forward to the ultimate goal of Carcassonne, the Pyrenees and the glorious sunshine!
Sometimes the challenges we face seem too much to cope with all in one go and so it is easier to take things one-step at a time. If you are feeling daunted by the challenges you are facing, or the issues you know you have to deal with then take it day by day. Where you know there are things you need to deal with or ways that you need to change, be encouraged today to make one small step towards that change. And focus not on the mountain ahead of you, but on the footsteps of Him who has gone before you to prepare the way.
Lord God, Show me today the areas where I need to make changes, and help me to see your footsteps leading me towards the goal. Help me focus on the small steps I need to take, and to trust you with the journey ahead as I seek to follow you. AMEN. |

| Tues 10 July - Children should be part of the church | | Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.” This verse is brilliant to get boring old Anglican churches to have a Sunday school so only the adults are bored to death in the services while the children colour in pictures of Noah’s big boat.

| Wed 4th July 07 - Hearing | | My dad’s hearing has been poor for a number of years. Partly it’s a hereditary issue, partly the result of not wearing ear protectors on the farm.

| Tues 3rd July 07 - Sight | | What a fantastic gift and so often taken for granted! We can wonder at the majesty of the mountains and the detail of a snowflake.
