Glory in Praying – Thurs 12 July
Is there still any glory left in praying for you, is there any part of you that is shocked at the idea of talking to the creator? There should be, but there probably isn’t, and I know for me talking to my Saviour has become somehow uninteresting.
How did this happen, we have been saved from the pit of hell by Jesus blood – and yet talking to our Lord is boring. The most high God is willing to engage in conversation but we don’t really bother with it.
If you have such a low opinion of praying, it seems logical (although logic and God don’t always seem to work!) that you will probably not have the right majestic glorious view of God. And if you don’t have the right view of God how can you tell people about him, how can you pass on the glory of the gospel to people that will want to hear it.
And when it comes to praying, if someone said they were going to pray for you, would you feel like it actually made a difference? Do you feel like your life will actually be different after someone had talked to God on your behalf – because you flippin’ well should. I know I don’t always – but if not what is the point!
Have more awe at the idea of praying, you are talking to almighty God – and then maybe you will even feel like it might make a difference when you talk to him. |

| Tues 10 July - Children should be part of the church | | Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.” This verse is brilliant to get boring old Anglican churches to have a Sunday school so only the adults are bored to death in the services while the children colour in pictures of Noah’s big boat.

| Wed 4th July 07 - Hearing | | My dad’s hearing has been poor for a number of years. Partly it’s a hereditary issue, partly the result of not wearing ear protectors on the farm.
