God loves you – Fri 20th Apr
As I write this devotional I am in holy fear and state of repentance. Basically I have had a very good day and have done an act of faith and God has shown me clearly I have done the right thing. He has also promised he is going to answer my prayer for a great need I have.
Despite what He has said to me, here is why I need to repent and give thanks to Him for His kindness. Ten minutes ago, I was in my prayer closet and this is how I prayed for my need:
“Lord I give glory to your name and I love you because you are faithful to your promises. I want to thank you for washing away all my sins through the blood of Jesus that enables me to come to your throne anytime with my needs. Now Father I pray that you lend me your ear. Is it not you who said if we are disobedient to your word you will do these three things to us (according to Leviticus 26): we will suffer from disease, we will plant our seed in vain and our adversary will have dominion over us? Lord of mercy I have been obedient to your word relating to my need and I pray that you answer me. Did you not give Noah time to build the ark and did you not wait for him to complete the job and only then did you send the floods? Well I have done your will and have finished the job, so why don’t you answer me? (And here is what I need to repent for) – Lord If you do not do this thing for me then I know that you do not love me. However, I can’t say this about your word because I know its so true and your promises will definitely come to pass. Father I thank you for answered prayer and please if I have said something that doesn’t please you, I pray, don’t rebuke me in you anger. But rather teach me in your kindness just like a father corrects his son. I pray this in Jesus name Amen!”
As soon as I went into the living room, I flipped the TV channel to a Christian programme and what do I see? The most amazing person I have ever seen in my life. His name is Nick Vujicic a living testimony of God’s love and glory. He was in ALL SMILES with no evidence that he is unhappy at all. He was giving a testimony of how God has been so good to him, how he has taken him all over the world to give testimonies of His goodness. He said at one stage in his life he had nearly committed suicide because he thought God didn’t love him. But finally he had learnt how God was so good to him despite his situation. When I saw Nick and heard his testimony my heart sank and repented. I quickly rushed to the computer to write this devotional with this special message, which I feel like shouting at the top of my voice – God loves me and you!
Nick who must be in his 30s was born without limbs (hands and legs) and has recorded his life on a DVD with the same title – Life without limbs. His words to anybody with problems (and with a broad smile and great joy) – “I pray that God gives you the grace to trust in Him just as He has done for me in my circumstances which I know may be far worse than yours.”
Lord I repent and pray that You use this experience for Your glory |
