The Prince of Peace – 26 Jan 2007
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this. Isaiah 9: 6-7 [NIV]
Isaiah foretold the coming of Jesus, and announced that one of the names he would be known as was “Prince of Peace”. Zechariah too foretold that Jesus would “proclaim peace to the nations”. If we had to sum up the past 2000 years, would peace be the word that comes to mind? – I don’t think so!
We are living in a unique point in history – between the birth of Christ and the return of Christ to this earth. We don’t know when Jesus will come, but by the measure of eternity it will be very soon. Peace will be the end result of Jesus’ time on earth – but before the peaceful times come there will be war and division.
Ask for the miracle of peace today. |

| Mon 22 Jan 07 - Truth: written on a wall | | Whilst l don’t condone graffiti, every now and then I notice something that gives me pause for thought. I recently spotted this writing spray-painted on a wall along my regular route to and from work (the A45 between Dunchurch and Daventry):
