The conditions for prayer that avails much - 13th December 2006
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your sins - Mark 11 vs. 23/24 (New Int. version)
This is one of my favourite scriptures I received from the Lord on 11th October 2006 when I was desperately in need and weary from prayer that seemed not to produce the desired result. And when I stumbled upon it, it was like I had discovered a gold mine. Here is what the Lord revealed.
There are four things that Christians need to do to be effective in their walk in Christ:
We are free to ask for whatever we desire in the name of Jesus. You can ask for healing, any good things, protection, money, favour, good relationships and anything whatsoever you desire from the Lord. Please do not be shy to ask or talk to the Lord your God about anything you want.
Secondly, you will need to pray. Sounds so easy, but when in trouble or when things are going well with us, we tend to neglect prayer. And yet prayer is the official protocol for communication with Heaven. We cannot receive from the Father without praying or somebody praying for us, so don’t let the devil cheat you. It is written before the Israelites received supernatural deliverance from Egypt they cried and God became concerned Ex 2 vs 23 – 25.
And when we pray we need to believe that we receive whatever we desire. However, this is the most difficult part! On the day the Lord revealed this to me, I was asking him for an outstanding cheque towards one of my projects at work. I had been praying for this for days with no response. So that day I prayed before going to work and believed that I would receive my cheque. You know what, when I checked the post at 10.00am I didn’t get it. But that day was different. I refused to fear or doubt but just believed that when I prayed in the morning I received what I wanted.
At lunch time I drove to my place of appointment with the Father. I called a friend and encouraged them about the goodness of the Lord God we serve. I even prayed for their needs. Finally I sang a song of praise to the Father for answering my prayer for my cheque that morning.
When I got to the office I got my cheque! However, it didn’t come by post for our God is not limited by circumstances. It came electronically through a special e-mail message which read dear Farai trustees were pleased with your report and have agreed to fund your organisation for another year. The cheque will be processed and sent to you next month!
Finally, if you remember that you hold anything against anyone, forgive them. And after fulfilling these four simple conditions according to our Lord Jesus Christ, your request for anything is granted. |
