Brian, Julie and Emma - Wednesday 20th September 2006
Brian’s small group had just packed up the picnic after their group social. When they got back to the cars, Emma found that she had lost her car keys.
Brian’s group had nominated Julie to be responsible for prayer, and she took the job seriously. “Come on, let’s all pray that they will be found” she said, and so the rest of the group bowed their heads and shut their eyes to pray.
But Brian wasn’t a man for long prayers; he walked back to where they had the picnic. He scouted round and found the keys in the long grass near where Emma had been sitting.
“Found them” he shouted back to the others.
“See – the power of prayer” said Julie
“See – the power of deeds” said Brian
Who do you think was being most Godly?
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. - Phillipians 4:6
“Dear brothers and sisters, what's the use of saying you have faith if you don't prove it by your actions? That kind of faith can't save anyone.” - James 2:14
