Dear friend I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. 3 John 2 New International Version
This prayer was for Gaius a believer who was so faithful in supporting the missions work of the church. His faithfulness had been told to the leaders of the church such as John.
This is a message for you today that God wants you to be in good health – yes physical health and that all goes well with you – yes that all your needs are met through his glorious riches in Jesus Christ. All this is in addition to his desire to seeing you grow spiritually.
Although he wants all this to be everybody’s utopia, we must recognise that God may allow his children to experience need in order to be encouraged to trust him more and to develop our faith, spiritual endurance and all the other fruits of the spirit.
God is not a liar nor angry with you but all troubles must be faced with prayer and trusting in God. In Psalms 22 the psalmist cried and also our Lord Jesus - My Lord My Lord why have you forsaken me? But knowing Jesus and David as we all do, were they really forsaken?
Remember that when Satan sifts you all the good things you have done seem all gone and yet your good deeds have been reported to God. Yes, just like Cornelius’ deeds and prayers they have reached his ears via the ministering angels.
Let today be the day you have been waiting for – to hear Him say, your prayers and alms to the poor stand before God like a monument! |
