God of convenience? – Thursday 25th May
How much of our lives are we prepared to give to God? Church on Sunday, our small group, an hour a week for prayer?
Do we ever find ourselves saying, “I won’t offer to help in case I get sucked in…” Do we hold back because the need may be inconvenient? “They might ring after midnight …”. Do we refuse to start something because we not prepared to see it through, whatever the consequence?
Is he a great God, worth giving our whole lives to, or is he a god of our convenience?
What do our actions tell others about him?
Are we available where God wants us, when he wants us, using the skills and resources he’s given us? I know that I am not, but I want to be – do you? If you do too, let’s all encourage each other to be God’s eyes and ears, hands and feet. We need that encouragement, as I’ll talk about tomorrow.
