Bosses want laws to stay.
In a recent poll by the local chamber of commerce 95% of business bosses want the Sunday trading laws to remain unchanged. They do not want 24 hours a day 7 days a week trading. Not only did they not want to see large stores getting a bigger chunk of Sunday business they also felt it would see the end of normal life. Apparently “even business bosses like the fact that there is one day in the week that is almost guaranteed to be a day of rest.”
Personally I am glad that some people still consider Sunday a day of rest. I wish shops opened 12 to 6 rather than 10-4 on a Sunday thus allowing everyone to be free to attend the 10.30 & 6.30 services!

“I gave them laws for living, showed them how to live well and obediently before me. I also gave them my weekly holy rest days, my "Sabbaths," a kind of signpost erected between me and them to show them that I, GOD, am in the business of making them holy. But Israel rebelled against me in the desert. They didn't follow my statutes. They despised my laws for living well and obediently in the ways I had set out. And they totally desecrated my holy Sabbaths. I seriously considered unleashing my anger on them right there in the desert.” Ezekiel 20:11-13
What is our response to this news in light of the fact that God shows His people how to live and that it angers him when we disobey His law. |
