Au Revoir to St. Matthew's
Today 200 people gathered in St. Matthew's to give thanks to God for their experience of Him in St. Matthew's over the last 60 or more years.

The church building is being closed this week for major repairs and refurbishment that is expected to take at least a year. From Sunday 17 October wes hall be meeting in our other parish church, St. Oswald's, at the bottom of Lawford Road, just half a mile away.
During this morning's service members of St. Matthew's wrote of their special memories of how they had met with God in this building. These notes were all stuck on a cross as an offering of thanksgiving.

The service ended with everyone taking a bible out from the pews symbolising their sharing of the Word of God with the wider community.
