Carry on Regardless – A new Government – 12 May 2010

When you read this, there will have been a General Election and possibly a change of Government (or not!).  Whatever the result and whoever the incumbent is at No 10, change will happen – or so they say.  Whether it will be change for better or worse is difficult to understand at this stage and I think even the politicians don’t know given the various permutations of hung Parliaments/alliances etc.

I shall pontificate no further on the whys and wherefores and preferred options.  Whatever happens, life will carry on regardless.  Whoever gets into power, change will take time and whilst there is no doubt that there will have to be cuts etc, the days will come and go, the months will pass and time will move on.

Many of us like consistency in life.  Given that the government won’t be consistent for a while, then focus on the One who is a model of consistency.  God.  Never failing, always there.  A verse from a song springs to mind:

You are my Rock in times of trouble

You lift me up when I fall down

All through the storm

Your love is the answer

My hope is in You alone

What a great thought and inspiration.

Enjoy Wednesday.
