“Well it's true today that when people stand
With the fire of God, and the truth in hand
We'll see miracles, we'll see angels sing
We'll see broken hearts making history
Yes it's true and I believe it
We're living for you.”
Without God we have no power to achieve any History Making. In order to be somebody who makes a difference it is vital we are protected and armed with the power of God.
“Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:10-17 [Author’s emphasis]
Armed in this way, we are prepared to step out with faith, and see truths spoken, broken hearts being healed, lives turned around, miracles and healings happening. As God’s power is displayed throughout the universe, the angels join in glorious song to celebrate and worship Him.
Even you and me, with our damaged and broken hearts, can be History Makers in this land. We can take the stand, we can fight for justice, we can speak out the truths. But we must daily put on the armour of God to prepare and protect us for that fight. We must stand with truth, righteousness and faith, and speak peace to broken lives.
We should continue, as History Makers, to fight to get our God to the number one spot in the lives of those who don’t yet know Him. We must also ensure that He is OUR number one, with nothing coming before Him.
