You must not covet your neighbor’s house. You must not covet your neighbor’s wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else that belongs to your neighbor Exodus 20:17 [NIV]
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8 [NIV]
You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. James 4:2-3 [NIV]
I am going to have to repeat myself here, I think, and say again that I love to give you what you need. In fact I think that if some of you looked more closely at what you have you would realise you do have all you need. Try making a list of everything you have. Include both tangible and less tangible things. I hope you will remember afterwards to pause and thank me for those things. When you first came into this world you had absolutely nothing but my love and when you leave it you will be the same. In fact everything you have gained in between has been my gift to you. If you think you have worked hard for some of it, think who gave you the abilities to do that job?
The next thing to do would be to make a list of what you want, go wild, get creative. First cross off the things that you wouldn’t really be able to cope with. Now ask me for the rest and see what happens.
The other thing you can do is to identify the things you don’t need and give them to someone who does need them.
Does the grass still look greener on the other side of the fence?
