God’s Love is for all - 25 November 2009
Today’s verses are not particularly obscure, in fact probably the most well known of them all (and then the one that follows).
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17 [NIV]
The greatest love from the greatest being shown to the greatest number for the greatest good; wow!!
It’s amazing to think that God loves each one of us so much that he gave his one and only son, Jesus Christ, to die for us, so that we can be set free, so that we can know and be known by God personally, and so that we can have the promise of eternity with him; all without us having to do anything to deserve it.
You may well have heard, or thought about this countless times, but it always bears repeating; God so loved the world….
While we were still sinners Christ died for us, the wonder of Grace; all because of God’s love.
Today, read these verses, rehearse them in your mind, meditate on them, keep reminding yourselves of them; and reflect on what God has done for you.
Thank you, Jesus.
Amen |
