God’s Love is forgiving - 24 November 2009

“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse nor will he harbour his anger for ever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
Psalm 103:8-12 [NIV]

These are wonderful, wonderful verses. God’s love for us is as big as the biggest thing that we can imagine, and then more besides. So big that it is beyond the comprehension of our human minds; and it’s for us!

God’s love is all forgiving; God looks on us with an attitude of perpetual forgiveness, despite knowing all there is to know about us, what we say and do, even what we think, his loving forgiveness knows no bounds.

Each time that we slip up, stumble and fall in our attempts to live as he would wish God smiles benevolently on us, picks us up, dusts us down, forgives us in our weakness, and starts us off again, and again, and again, and again and again……

Take time today to think about God’s love and God’s forgiveness; and then thank him for it.

God is so good.

Amen
