I will never forget you – 9 July 2009
Alfredo William is staying in the YWAM base where he is helping out during the day and studying at school in the evenings. Here is his testimony:
“First of all I want to introduce myself. I am Alfredo William, I’m about 20 years old and would just like to tell you a little bit about my story.
I grew up in a family where things were difficult and I stayed with my Grandma. First I was staying with my father and then my parents separated. I stayed with my father, my younger sister stayed with my mother.
Then my parents passed away. My father in 1994, and my mother in 2003. Then I was just living with my grandmother - and things were difficult at home. Friends would take me in different ways - like always drinking with them and doing something wrong – some things that I never thought I would be doing.
I stayed with my Grandma and she came here to the social work department and she talked with Pastor Bonga, who received me in this orphanage. I was about 14 years old and when I arrived here I received Jesus as my Saviour and I forgot everything and
started to move on and live a good life, a lot of brothers around me, and things were good in my life. I saw a change.
The verse I would like to share is….
Could a mother forget a child who nurses at her breast? Could she fail to love an infant who came from her own body?
Even if a mother could forget, I will never forget you. Isaiah 49: 15 [CEV]
I like this verse. This verse makes me strong, day by day, and I still walk with Jesus.
I did my YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS) in 2006 and spent a year working with YWAM, and things are going good in my life and I have everything: clothes, food, everything - so you guys are helping me a lot.
Thank you, William” |
