Give to the poor7July 2009

Today’s word comes from Pastor Boniface Labuquene, the Administrator in the office at Casa Reom, who manages the finances and buys the food and materials for the building project at Inhamizua and the provisions needed for the Dondo orphanage.

“Hello Dave, hello brothers and sisters in .  I send my greetings to you all.  Thank you for sending Dave at this time and thank you very much for all you are doing especially to remember the centre and the children of Casa Reom.

I just want to share with you a small verse from Acts:

Cornelius was a very religious man.  He worshiped God, and so did everyone else who lived in his house.  He had given a lot of money to the poor and was always praying to God.  Acts 10: 2 [CEV]

This comes from the story of Cornelius - he was one of the first Gentiles to hear the word of God.  He was a person who had faith in God, he was a man fearing God.  He had generosity to give to the poor and also he and his family were following God, they were fearing God.

We need to fear God and we need to trust God and we need to serve others - the poor and so forth.  So what you are doing in , I want to encourage you, that what we are doing is the same as Cornelius - and Cornelius had the spirit to ask Peter, to know everything when Peter was there.  He came to know God and he and his family were converted, and he also had the opportunity to ask many people to come and to hear what Peter was saying about the word of God.

We need to trust God.  We need to fear him - and we need to worship God.  And we need to give gifts to the poor and others.

Thank you very much in .

Goodbye

Boniface
