Move forward together – 23 June 2009
I will be sharing with you about the word “move” but different from what we saw yesterday. The word is used to express the movement of something from one place to another. It gives a real challenge that if you have faith to move the mountains and you have no love you are nothing in the eyes of the Lord.
I may be able to speak the languages of men and even of angels, but if I have no love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a clanging bell. I may have a gift of inspired preaching, I may have all knowledge and understand all secrets, and I may have all the faith needed to move mountains……1 Corinthians 13:1-2
The move I am talking about can be related to a leader inside the church who is able to develop his congregation from one step into another step. A leader who has a vision to improve the people’s minds to worship the Lord in the right way. A good leader has to train his men and women to the capacity of knowing the word of God better. A good leader can conduct training that can help to improve understanding. In our society, traditionally we do not trust women to be equal with men, or we have separation of duties - that these are for men and these are for women. This is living in the past! Eventually, today we find that what a man can do, woman can also do.
In our churches you find three groups: the youth, the women and the men. Each of these groups has a big role to perform in the church. A good leader has to prepare youths to make a better church in the future. It is our duty as leaders to help our boys and girls to understand their position inside the church that we can move together with the same spirit. |
