Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts— to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,  to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship. Exodus 31:1-5 [NIV]

To think about:

The Bible seems to suggest that we have the following resources: time, money, possessions and abilities. We have freedom in the way we use and develop these, though we also experience constraints.

Bezalel is singled out as having particular abilities, sometimes we are aware of our talents though it may be others who point them out to us. 

We may have more or less money and possessions, but however much we have we can choose to use it in different ways – we can keep money to ourselves, we can spend money, we can invest money for financial gain, we can give it to others, we can gamble money, we can give it to charity, or we can use it for the good of others.  Possessions can also be used in a similar way.

Some of our time is spoken for, but we can make choices about our time. In his own life Jesus was here on earth, Jesus used his time for obviously ‘spiritual’ things such as praying, and he spent time with his friends, he got to know other people, he worked, he spent time on his own, he went to parties, he had fun, and he had leisure time.
