New Lay Minister

It was announced this Sunday that Sheila Bridge will be joining the Pastoral Staff TeamSheila Bridge from September as a Licensed Lay Minister.  Sheila was recommended for ordination training in the Church of England last year and will be trained on a new mixed-mode course.

The course lasts for four years and for that period Sheila will be on a parish placement at St. Matthew's and St. Oswald's during which time she will have a number of 5 week blocks of residential training at St. John's College, Nottingham.

She will be licensed by the Bishop of Coventry at St. Matthew's on Sunday 13 September at 10.30am as a Licensed Lay Minister.  After two years she will be ordained Deacon at Coventry Cathedral and then as Priest at the beginning of her fourth year.

Please pray for Sheila as she prepares for this new role.

That's such good news for St Matthew's Sheila. We pray that you will be blessed by your calling just as we know you will bless us and we thank God for you
