Balance - 9 January 2009
It’s important that we grow and develop into balanced human beings.
In our physical appearance it’s easy to spot excess growth –especially after Christmas – and equally easy to detect stunted growth as in cases of malnourishment. It’s harder to carry out the same checks on our mental, spiritual, emotional and social health.
On a course I attended last year I came across a kind of MOT for the whole person. Imagine a circle broken into 8 equal segments representing:
1 Personal development
2 Career or business
3 Financial matters
4 Health and fitness
5 Fun and leisure
6 Spiritual and emotional growth
7 Friends and family
8 Significant other
To do this exercise properly, draw a circle and divide it into 8 equal segments.
With the centre of each spoke representing zero, and the outer ring being 10, score each area of your life by putting a mark on the appropriate position of each spoke. With 10 being the maximum, mark where you are in each segment of your life. Then join each mark to create your personal wheel of life.
How round is your wheel?
How can you best address those areas of imbalance?
God bless |
