Keeping Company with God - 27 October 2008
Today I want to share with you some thoughts from a quiet day I attended called ‘Keeping Company with God’
Our praying should not be something confined to one day of the week, but a daily conversation with God. We have many opportunities to enter into prayerful thought with God.
For instance, prayer for the moment - don’t think about giving that thought to Jesus later in the day, pray there and then as it happens, offer the situation to God.
Do you talk to yourself? We all do. Well talk to God instead, offer him those thoughts and daydreams.
When you are about to go into a situation today that gives you some anxiety shoot a quick prayer to God for guidance and support.
When you are carrying out a monotonous task that frees up your mind, then use that time for prayer.
When out walking - and I will offer more thoughts on this later in the week - consider the things you see and smell.
‘The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands’
Psalm 19: 1 [NIV]
In all your routine today keep company with God. |
