Keeping the promise in sight – 1 Oct 2008
When we got born again every promise from the book of Genesis to Revelation became ours “He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.” Galatians 3:14 [NIV]
Throughout the bible one of God’s desires is for his people to believe him
As we hear the word and start meditating on it, it begins to produce faith and whatsoever God sent that word to accomplish in us. So if you want to be successful in any area of your life meditate upon God’s word that relates to your situation “day and night” and you will succeed (Psalms 1 vs. 2-3)
As God’s children we are also called to be doers of whatever the word is saying and the bible calls this obedience.
I have been praying about many issues some of which appear to be unchangeable. One night after prayer I visited the bathroom and saw a moth outside the window and God gave me a word on knowledge and encouragement. I saw that the moth was striving to get inside the house and it was so persistent. I sensed God showing me something quite simple but profound. The moth had been attracted to the window by the illumination in the house.
In a similar manner, when we read the word we get God’s revelation about answers to the things we desire to see in our lives. When we cling to the word and pray about the promises given, God will be seeing and hearing us just as I was seeing that moth from the other side of the window pane. God is a Spirit and is always present even though we cannot see him in the natural.
What am I saying? I sensed that just as I had the power to open the window for the moth to come in, God is also able to open unseen windows of opportunity to meet my needs. However when these opportunities come, will I have the faith to enter through the open doors?
When we have prayed with faith and need a job, we need to do the corresponding action of applying for the job and expect to receive what we asked for.
Today, remember to keep on believing, but also do some corresponding act of faith. This includes speaking a breakthrough even if it appears impossible. If you keep on doing this, the seed sown will surely manifest. |
