The Long and Winding Road - 8 Sept 2008
I am going to focus this week on some of the journeys we make throughout life. During the summer I have been reflecting on some of the life journeys I have made over the years, and some of the experiences I have had. Often it can be hard to see exactly what the purpose of those journeys has been, and even where God is in it all.
As I looked back over those events, and reflected on some of the things I have been through I was prompted about what a long and winding road life really is. We never really know what is around the next corner. Often it can feel like a real uphill struggle, sometimes we seem to be bombing far too fast down a hill towards something and feel totally out of control, we may have times of rest and peaceful strolls through beautiful places, it may seem that we are just on a long straight path with nothing much going on, we may find ourselves lost on a forest, abandoned in the desert, skipping through the woods. The list is endless.
Wherever we find ourselves, be it in a happy place or a lonely and frightening alley, we must always trust and remember that God is with us.
“The Lord is with you wherever you are” Joshua 1:9
No matter where you are on your journey this week, I hope you will be able to come along and walk with me as I reflect on some of the paths we may find ourselves on. You don’t need to bring along a picnic, but a chocolate bar may help along the way!
