The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. Matthew 6:22
Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?”
The blind beggar replied, “Lord, I want to see.” Luke 18: 40-41
Today, Lord God, I give you my eyes
How much I treasure my sight!
How I thank you for colour; for light and shade.
Thank you that I can see what’s near and what’s far away.
Thank you that I can see the faces of those close to me.
I can see their smiles and laughter.
I can see their frowns and tears.
Thank you for your eyes, Lord God.
Thank you that nothing is hidden from your eyes.
Thank you that you see when I’m vulnerable and when I’m in pain.
Thank you that your eyes are full of compassion and healing.
Thank you that you see right into the heart of my condition.
Thank you that you see beyond and behind appearance.
Today, Lord, I earnestly desire to see you.
Today, Lord, I earnestly desire more insight and understanding.
Thank you that your desire is to give me these things.
Today, Lord God, I give you my eyes.
