I thank you for the gift of speech.
Thank you that you speak to me as if I’m the only person around.
Thank you that you made me like you – able to communicate.
Thank you that I can share with you all my thoughts and fears, hopes and aspirations, concerns and difficulties.
Thank you that listen to me.
Thank you that I can talk to you about my family, friends, neighbours and colleagues.
Thank you that as your child I can use my tongue to bless, encourage, motivate, comfort, heal and reassure.
Thank you that with my tongue I can praise and magnify you.
I can sing and shout your praises.
Thank you that with my tongue I can speak out against violence, oppression, want and injustice.
Thank you for the authority you give me to speak into situations in your name.
