Therefore I urge you to offer your bodies as living sacrifices….. Romans 12.1
My theme for the week is one of offering ourselves to God and so
I have written a daily prayer in which a different part of the body is offered to Him.
I have tried to make these prayers full of thanks and appreciation and void of asking.
Here goes….
Hands that flung stars into space…to cruel nails surrendered. G. Kendrick
Today, Lord Jesus, I give you my hands
I remember that your hands bled on the cross.
I remember the gaping holes from the nails, hammered in by my sin.
My hands are clean thanks to you.
I can’t begin to imagine the pain you suffered as you hung from your hands.
Your hands, those of the Maker and Creator, brutally damaged and broken.
You hands, which touched so many people in healing and blessing, a part of your willing sacrifice.
Your hands, through which power flowed, rendered fixed and powerless.
My hands are clean thanks to you.
Today I choose to put my hand in yours and walk with you.
With the other hand let us touch the people we meet…in the same way that you’ve touched me and healed me.
Today I choose to open my hands to you for you have washed them.
Today I choose to lift my hands to you for you are worthy.
Today, Lord Jesus, I give you my hands.
