Meditation - 12 June 2008
Our time of prayer with God can also be about meditation.
When our mind reflects, ponders, pictures something of God to gain understanding and insight.
You could take a passage just read as part of your time with God and put yourself into that situation. Perhaps a scene from the gospels, putting yourself into that scene and ask what is Jesus doing and saying to us in this. Experience the encounter for yourself. Allow Jesus to encounter you, and you Him. To feel His presence in a new way and in that meditation, that picturing, pondering and reflecting in that encounter to ask afresh for that forgiveness, to experience that peace and serenity. To ask that intercessory prayer or to just sit and to listen to contemplate perhaps the scene to be aware of Christ loving you to contemplate the reality which is beyond words. |
