Surrender - 9 June 2008

“then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up” Luke 18:1

The Lord said “be persistent”.

Part of our act of prayer is surely to surrender ourselves to God. To give of the whole of ourselves, our total and complete attention. One of the ways in which we show our love for him is indeed to surrender every part of ourselves to him our body, mind and senses. We can then surely let go of our cares and worries, that which preoccupies us, that which is the cause of our anxieties. To surrender our heart, our feelings, so that in the Holy Spirit we may feel the presence and the indwelling of the Love of God as it flows through us. Surrender to God in prayer to experience the mystery which is God, to dwell in his peace and start that process of communication.
